Mountain Biking

  • We heard you! For those who don’t ski and prefer the warm(er)-weather pursuits of biking and trail running we are launching a summer membership. If you make use of the grass trail system in the Stoney Creek valley, this is the membership for you. The new summer membership runs from April 1 – September 30 of each year and the costs are: Individual – $25, Family – $50. You can purchase a summer membership here
  • This year we are again offering the Kids of Mud youth mountain biking program! Kids of Mud is the official youth cycling program offered by the Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA), Saskatchewan Cycling Association (SCA) and the Manitoba Cycling Association (MCA). The Kids of Mud program promotes fun and skill development in a social and supportive environment. It is designed to be a complete mountain biking program for all ages of youths (5-18 yrs). The curriculum focuses on growth and participation in cycling, from the earliest stages of developing physical literacy to lifelong participation in the sport (based on Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development approach). This year, we plan to offer two groups: U7 (meant for kids aged 5-7 in the 2025 calendar year) and U11 (meant for kids aged 8-11). The programs introduce basic skills for mountain biking. The focus is on letting them develop and discover through fun and games. Some of the skills covered in this program include position and mobility, shifting, braking, climbing, descending and cornering skills.  Max of 10 participants per group—first come, first serve! Lessons will be held at the Stoney Creek Centre on Saturday afternoons (U7) and Sunday afternoons (U11), from May 24 to June 29. REGISTER HERE

The Camrose Ski Club has partnered with the Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA) so our registered members are covered under the ABA’s insurance. Fees paid to the Camrose Ski Club will include a general Camrose Ski Club membership and membership to the ABA. For those members interested in a bicycle racing license they should contact the Camrose Ski Club directly either at skiclubcamrose@gmail.com or our bicycle board member, Ian Wilson iandougwilson@gmail.com
