Begins mid-November 2024 and runs until mid-March 2025

Both the Beginner Learn to Ski Program and Learn to Loppet Group will have a 1.5 hour session, once a week for the the duration of the season.

Beginner Learn to Ski Program – These participants have little to no experience cross-country skiing. Instruction will focus on basic technique and introduction to x-country skiing in the classic technique.

Participants must have access to classic skis.

Beginner’s Learn to Ski will run Wednesday evenings 6:00 PM-7:30 PM.

Learn to Loppet Program – The Learn to Loppet program is built for the intermediate skier looking for a social experience plus developing the required skills and techniques. The focus is on technique building and improving fitness through longer ski outings, combined with a friendly social atmosphere. Participants should be somewhat comfortable in both classic and skate ski techniques.

We request that participants have at least 2 years of skiing experience and should have access to both classic and skate skis.

This program will focus on attending an event at the Canadian Birkebeiner Festival and/or the Ole Uffda Loppet in Camrose. While skiing the loppet events are not mandatory this will be the focus of the program.

For those more keen the ski club will also provide a training program for those who want to ski more and build toward additional or other loppet events.

Learn to Loppet program will run Wednesday evenings 7:45 PM-9:15 PM.
